  1. My great-Great Grandfather Oliver Perry Williams of DeKalb County is the person noted on your list of privates of the 27th. I see you’ve got him listed as “D.P. Williams”, incorrectly. Check the records. I am a book author in the process of writing Oliver Perry Williams’ story, and have researched extensively this unit of the Confederacy. You may also want to read the book by Harry Barnard titled, “Tattered Volunteers” which lists him as O.P. WIlliams.

    • That is the spelling in the records. Thank you for your input. I know how aggravating it is when an entry has errors, I was fairly upset when I saw how all my family names were butchered by enumerators and the like over the decades. 🙂

  2. Jon Robert Bradford

J.D. Bradford of the 27th, Company C is my great great grandfather. His son, Jesse D. Bradford was also in the 27th, Company C. I am completely hitting a brick wall with the parents of J.D. Bradford. He was born in TN in approx. 1808. Does anyone at this website have any further information about J.D. Bradford? He married Mary “Polly” Chandler in Limestone, AL. ANY information you might have on J.D. Bradford will be greatly appreciated.
