In doing this research I have been able to add another generation to my tree:
Stephen R. Box’s wife was Sarah K. Hawkins, daughter of Edward W. Hawkins (1831-1900) and Nancy (last name unknown).
Stephen R. Box’s father was John Patterson Box (1824-1862), the son of John Hatters Box and Jane “Jennie” Stovall. Jane was born 1798 in Virginia according to the census.
Stephen’s father Patterson Box was killed or died during the Civil War where he served in the Alabama 28th Infantry Co B.
Patterson was as far back as I could go in the early 2000’s and I gave up till now! On to digging on John Hatters Box my G-g-g-g-grandfather…

Randy, if you find out any more on John Hatters Box please let me know. Do you have any idea where Patterson Box might be buried? I descend from Stephen Box’s son, William C Reynolds. William C Reynolds was my grandfather.

Got a burst of enthusiasm and dug some more. Still can’t find anything on the parents of John Hatters Box.

My grandfather is Hubert Reynolds son of Lucretia Box Reynolds.
I am named after her. My parents were told my name was correct spelling but I found out on my grandfathers birth certificate that was not the case. My grandfather lived in Oneonta AL. Til his death in 1980.
You can find many cousins on Facebook from her children’s children.
Thank you all for sharing. I grew up with my gaunt Alta and her family living across the road from my grandparents on Easley Mountain. I also grew up around guncle Alvin who lived in Leeds AL.

My Dad remembers his Aunt “Creasey”. Years ago in the early-mid 90’s we had a truck driver come to my Dad’s business delivering goods. Turned out to be one of our cousins who was Lucretia’s son.
