The past is the present for future generations who do not know their history

The Sheffield Hotel…

was quite opulent. Mother said that it had a big staircase and the biggest most beautiful chandelier. She said it was so beautiful it would put your eyes out. What a treat it would be if there still existed some photos of the inside of this grand hotel. This grand and gracious hotel burned in 1948.

The photograph below is credited to Amy L. Fulmer. I think I have only seen postcards of the hotel. There is also an old postcard of Sheffield below the photograph Amy posted.

    I don’t remember ever being inside the hotel but I remember the day it burned We lived on 25th st and everybody around could see the flames we all walked to town to see what was going on . You could feel the heat from way back It was a very sad day
